Customer Service Representative

This is a Contract position in Fairport, NY posted February 25, 2020.

Great new opening at busy Fairport manufacturing company. Day shift hours, 8:00am-5:00pm, Monday through Friday. Must be Bilingual English/Spanish


  • Communicates directly with customers, taking telephone orders, responding to price and delivery questions, and answering product related questions.
  • Promise Dates — Verifies production dates and enters information into the scheduling system.
  • Enters, maintains, and processes customer orders into the Order Entry system (keyboard entry).
  • Edits all orders, checking information such as addresses, transportation methods, quantities and weights, dimensions and insurance charges.
  • Ensures we have the right product for the customer and that the order makes sense.
  • Enters MRP requirements for customers as required.
  • Maintains customer master lists and forecast reports.
  • May generate and distribute various reports on a daily basis.
  • Files documents such as drawings and customer orders.
  • Types various documents as required.
  • Forwards Order Confirmation to customers.
  • Performs duties in accordance with quality standards
  • Maintains work area in accordance with established housekeeping procedures to ensure a safe and clean work environment.
  • Performs such similar, comparable or related duties as may be required, such as providing occasional back-up for reception duties as needed.
  • Technical/Associates Degree or equivalent required.
  • Must be proficient in understanding, speaking, and writing in both Spanish and English.?
  • Two years of previous experience in Sales, Customer Service, or Order Entry in manufacturing.
  • Aptitude to enter data accurately and rapidly.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
  • Problem solving and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work well with all levels of personnel within the company, and outside of the company.
  • Strong ability to use office equipment and computer software including Microsoft applications and telephone equipment.
